my mate used to take the piss out of my chest hair (think cos he was a hairless, blonde dude) in my experience MOST people dont actually care. Its just the squemish loud mouth immatures like ur rant at the beginning, backed by a billion dollar beauty industry that makes money out of it, that perpetuates this problem and screws up young lads for such a benign reason- shame on you :/
Sort of a Catch 22 happening here — hairy men have a “body image” problem in Western countries because “society” happens to be at war with body hair. They’d be perfectly OK with being hairy if there weren’t the peer pressure to shave/trim/manscape from the majority which want men to have “clean” and trim/muscular appearance. It’s sad to see companies/media preying on perfectly good (masculine-looking) guys to “improve” their “image.” It’s not a health issue; it’s vanity. Embrace the fur!
@mactheday Refreshing attitude to realize it’s THEIR problem, not yours! Immature folks focus on outward appearance and bully those who are in the minority. Whether it’s wearing braces or glasses or too fat (or too skinny), the (immature) majority love to focus on differences.
I agree that it’s a shame that so many impressionable young men grow up feeling awkward / negative toward a natural (masculine) body trait. The sooner society at large wakes up to this scam, the better. Embrace fur!
@powerliftingful I think it’d be great if you were to show us that masculine image on You Tube. The idea of a “testosterone factory” should be a big motivator for guys who feel masculine and know that women want MEN, not smooth pretty-boys/twinks. Amazing how many guys fall victim to this false body image fiasco that Hollywood/media perpetuate.
@msbobcat Therein lies the underlying problem — self-confidence should NOT have anything to do with body image; unfortunately, Hollywood/media have determined that there’s a particular “look” that projects confidence and success. By focusing on body hair, a lot of young men suffer from self-esteem issues simply by being naturally themselves.
Personally, I think the majority always finds something in a minority to pick on (glasses / braces / overweight / zits, etc.). Embrace the fur, guys!
@2hairylegggs2 If you only knew how many people find body hair attractive, you’d be proud of having a great physical feature. I think you need to find more friends who think you look great, rather than listen to society-at-large who don’t care about YOU, or who judge you simply because your legs are different than theirs. Just typing that sentence — don’t you see how silly their preoccupation with changing YOUR legs is? Something that trite makes THEM feel good? Embrace your fur!
@2hairylegggs2 Might I add, if your friends think your furry legs are your best physical feature, it might be something you’d like to post on You Tube. You’d be amazed at how many positive comments you’d receive. It would also encourage guys who feel self-conscious about their body hair to (hopefully) feel better about their visible testosterone
