A year ago I started my laser hair removal treatment in a few areas of my body with a great success (considering that I only attended 5 sessions). The clinic closed down and now I want to continue the treatment somewhere else. I know they were using Candela Laser for the procedure.
My question is… In order to continue with a successful treatment do I need to use the same machine?
I have quoted a few places (by the way, quite affordable) but they use IPL, Palomar, Lumenis Lightsheer XC, or Soprano Laser. I found a place using Candela, but it was quite expensive. Can I just finish my treatment with one of those lasers or would you recommend sticking with the Candela? The price is more than double! Which of those machines are better? What do you think I should do?
Some day spas and even physician offices may offer hair removal that they say takes 6 to 10+ treatments. This is not necessary! Check to make sure they are using a medical laser used in professional laser hair removal treatments. In many instances they are not using a laser, but a light source which can target hair, but most of it is absorbed by other targets or chromophores (the parts of molecules responsible for color). A true medical laser usually requires 3 to 5 treatments for significant hair reduction.
I can’t comment on all of the lasers you listed, but currently we offer laser hair removal with the Candela GentleYAG for lighter skin types, Candela GentleLASE for darker skin types, and the Palomar StarLux for most skin types.
