IPL Hair Removal

IPL or Intense Pulsed Light is not technically a laser although it is often referred to as one. Traditional lasers use a focused beam of light representing a single wavelength whereas IPL uses a light beam that spans multiple wavelengths. This difference makes IPL treatments gentler on the skin and allows it to be used for other skin ailments such as Rosacea, skin blotches, acne, etc.

It’s use for hair removal has both good points and bad. It can cover a larger area due to the flexibility of multiple wavelengths so is particularly useful for removing unwanted hair from larger areas such as backs and chests. Traditional lasers, on the other hand, provide a more concentrated beam that is more effective in destroying the hair follicles and preventing hair regrowth.
