I got an IPL laser hair removal on my armpits yesterday, since then my eyes have been pretty sensitive to light and I see black dots.
My eyes were mostly closed during the procedure.
Could this IPL treatment have caused any damage to my eyes?

It’s possible an inattentive or inexperienced technician could have caused damage. There are two things to consider:
1) IPL is intense pulsed light, but it is not laser. IPL beams lack the focus of laser and are more easily dispersed, meaning light energy from the system is more likely to go places the technician doesn’t intend.
2) The eyes are one of the most sensitive parts of the body, particularly since their purpose as an organ is to detect light; thus they are more vulnerable to light energy than other areas.
At Assara, we only use laser technology and both the client and technician wear eye protection for all treatments, including lower body treatments. If you are concerned, you should see your doctor or an ophthalmologist.
